Well, since I had to redo my website in November of 2008, I decided to go ahead and do something with the pictures taken over 3 years ago while on our family vacation to Canada.
We arrived around 4pm on the first day, and met my online buddy Debbie. once we had our tent set up, Debbie and her friend went with us, to go out and get our first glimpse of the falls.
We got there just as the sun was setting, and the view was amazing!
Soon after, as we were walking along the edge of the river, watching the water below, we heard the first of the fireworks.
But we had overlooked Dani's fear of fireworks!
Dani made a break for the car (which was parked on the other side of a 3 lane highway.
Luckily we tackled her before she got to the road. And we went back to the campground
The next day, we went to see the falls by daylight.
As we approached, we saw what looked like a lot of steam rising. It wasn't steam, it was the mist made by the water hitting the rocks below.
We parked the van, and walked along the riverbank in the day time, and saw the Maid of the Mist below.
We went down and took a ride on the fabled Maid of the Mist.
We rode the Incline Railway, and saw a beautiful view of the falls.
Back at camp, Charlotte found that the KOA had some fruit trees, and they didn't mind if you picked some, so long as it didn't go to waste.
We rented bicycles, tricycles, and recumbents.
Charlotte made a friend who spoke only French.
Then, after just a couple days, it was time to head home.
